Imagination
Posted on March 10, 2010
My little guy has the best imagination. He surprises me everyday with the stories he makes up and the games he plays. Make believe is a part of his everyday life and I learn from his creativity. Among his favorite pastimes is playing “guys”. Star wars, heros, pencils, forks, you name it, they all turn into “guys” and a story emerges. I have even seen him turn his dinner of peas into “guys”.
To my little guy – I adore you. Thank you for making my life richer.

Asoka-the boxer dog
Posted on March 2, 2010
Happy late birthday to our boxer dog who celebrated her birthday Valentine’s day. Asoka is a sweet dog that I must admit is a bone of contention in our home. Asoka has put my husband in the dog house many times by his failure to train her. The good news is she starts school Monday which should help keep my husband out of trouble for his insistence that we get her.
Asoka: flies like the wind, jumps 5 feet straight up, can’t sit still for more than 30 seconds if you ask her, eats food off my counters, chases cars, sleeps on my furniture, steals teddy bears, is named after a star wars character, loves children, knows the difference in how to play with a 5 year old boy and a two year old girl, has a face that you just have to adore, and is part of our family.

And just because it is so cute, here is her training video from a few months back
Trip to San Diego
Posted on February 4, 2010
I am leaving for San Diego today and will return next Tuesday. Many of you know that in addition to my photography I am also a life coach working for Mr. Robbins’ company Robbins Research International. I am looking forward to a great training with Tony Robbins, some much needed girlfriend time with Tani and a day with my good friend and photography mentor Christa. I cant wait to post the photos when I return.
I love this video of Tony. Stay awhile and check it out!

Mom 2.0: Defining moment
Posted on February 2, 2010
Please watch the video below. It will be the best 2:41 seconds you have had all week. I watched many times and each time it moved me to tears. I thought, this is it, this is exactly how I feel.
This video puts my thoughts, heart and desires for my children into powerful words. As a mom we go through extreme emotions. Sometimes I feel on top of the world, I laugh and giggle with my little ones, I have faith that I am a good mom and at other times I feel guilt that I am not doing enough, or am I doing the right thing? After watching this video I felt affirmed and inspired to be even more for them. At the the same time I think I also forgave some of my struggles and reminded me that the powerful love I have for them is enough…..

love, honor, cherish
Posted on January 10, 2010
Seven years ago today I married my wonderful husband. It was a Friday evening in downtown Denver with our favorite people celebrating our love. The time has passed with a blink of an eye.
We began dating March 2000 living in San Diego, moving north to San Francisco heading east with a stop in Denver for a few years and now our home in Sturbridge. Its been quite a ride and I am excited to see what the future will bring us.
A few resons why I love him ….
He is the best kisser I have ever known
I love the way he gets excited about the small things in life, like when finding a parking spot up front in a crowded lot gets him giddy
He quotes movies and laughs at himself even if no one else gets it
He makes me laugh when I dont want to
He gave me two beautiful children that take my breath away
He is an amazing father and reads to little A everynight before he puts him to bed
He supports me in anything I want to do, no questions asked

Alphonso, I love, honor and cherish you

Picking up my Camera 2010- Sturbridge Photographer
Posted on January 9, 2010
Everyday in 2010 I want to do at least one thing that makes me happy.
Photographing my family does this for me. This year I will capture the simple, everyday moments in my family’s life.

Happy New Year 2010!
Posted on January 6, 2010
2009 was quite ride for myself and Jayne Jewell Photography. As I looked back on my 2009 goals this weekend, opening a photography business wasn’t even on the list. I knew I wanted to learn how to take better photos but in my mind it was to capture my family’s memories.
I immersed myself in everything photography, clicked my camera almost daily and participated in a few workshops which can be read about here. I opened my blog and camera for business in September of this year and wow did it go fast! I photographed over 40 families in this short time and oh my goodness was it a fun, wild ride! I am so very grateful to all the families who trusted me to capture their photographs this year (watch your email I have a special treat for you as a thank you).
I am sending a big hug and a heartfelt thank you to:
All the families who gave me the opportunity to photograph your precious ones
My husband whom was patient with my long work hours and didn’t complain that I came to bed after midnight for almost four months
My beautiful children who sat on my lap for cuddles as I edited photos
To my girlfriend Christa who inspired me to start a photography business, for your mentoring and because you held my hand /pushed me to register a domain name for my blog
the weekend in NYC wasn’t bad either!
The amazing women in my life that have encouraged me, cheered me on and loved me for years, Tani, Loren, Tina, Emily, and Joelle
My new local girlfriends that keep me sane from day to day Cindy, Mary, Michelle, Rebecka and Amy to name a few
To Pam that loves and cares for my children while I am working
My new found photography friends thank you for sharing, inspiring and our new friendship Angie, Kristin, Marta, Amanda, Heather, Laura, Tasha, Stacy and the other amazing women I met along the way.
Tony Robbins, you have helped me define who I am today, thank you for all the opportunities you have given me for so many years. I am deeply grateful to you. I love being a life coach/trainer and am excited to work with my clients in 2010
To Matthew my coaching director, I love working and strategizing with you!
To my coaching clients that keep me on my toes, challenge me and for allowing me to partner with you in your lives.
I am very excited for 2010!
And because every post is better with a photo, here is a one from Christmas morning.

Merry Christmas!!!

my family
Posted on December 18, 2009
Being the photographer of the family I am rarely in photos with my children. Every time I hand the camera to my husband the photos are blurry, or I end up in the bottom left corner of the photo with the focus on the salt and pepper shaker on the table or whatever else is near me. We joke in my house that when our children look back at all the photos of their childhood there will be no record I was ever here.
I teamed up with Carrie and she took these photos and then handed them over to me to process. Thank you so much Carrie!
